Another Round of “Do Good, Feel Good, and Be Safe

This past Sunday was dry and not too cold in Los Angeles, providing me the opportunity to again participate in a Stair Climbing event called the Fight For Air Climb sponsored by the American Lung Association.  I had a time issue this year so Team Train With Susan (Beth was my other team member) were climbers (the shortest climb route) of over 1400 stairs up and down the Los Angeles Coliseum.

Of course, climbing stairs is a great way to keep in shape.  By climbing with the American Lung Association,  Team Train With Susan was supporting people with lung disease who are fighting for every breath.  I was also stepping up for clean air across the country and in our community and, of course, I was doing something positive for myself.

As you can imagine, climbing that many stairs, which are of different heights, could be a little tricky. We were up for the challenge.  We wore gloves with gripping dots on the palm and held on to the handrails as much as we could.  This way, if either of us tripped, we knew I wouldn’t fall.

It is always good to do something different and it is always good to be challenged.  It is also very important that we do so in a safe way.

Last year, the wife of a client had lung disease.  I proudly wore her name on my jacket.   Unfortunately, she passed away in May.  Her daughter joined in this year and created her own team in memory of her mother.

Charity events are a good way to Do Good and Feel Good.  (And you can do so safely.)
