A Great Start to The Year

We are now three weeks into 2025.  What a three weeks it has been!  I continue to express my gratitude in general but I especially feel so grateful for my good health.

The year started out with a family get-away.  I, along with my husband, four grown children and their spouses, and seven grandchildren spent five days together near San Diego.  Most importantly, the cousins (ages 6 and younger) were able to spend a lot of time together.  It was such a special time for us all.

All my exercise certainly helped as I carried luggage, groceries, and pac-n-plays in and out of my car when we arrived and when we packed up, when we walked for hours at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and up and down hills at the Vista Botanical Gardens.

Two days after arriving home the fires erupted in the Los Angeles area.  My neighborhood was never threatened.  Once again, I am fortunate and grateful.

Last week I volunteered at a distribution center providing services to fire victims.  I spent a few hours sorting clothes, moving boxes, and lifting and moving pet food bags to help make the distribution process easier.

I was glad I was able to help out.  My physical training helped me hold my body correctly as I moved things around so that I wouldn’t injure my back or other parts of my body.  And I didn’t have to think twice about getting down on my knees and getting back up.

That’s the thing about exercise.  We don’t necessarily want to exercise but we want the benefits it gives us.  Being able to keep pace with your family as they visit the zoo or doing exactly what the 20 year old supervisor asks you to do at a distribution center are some of those benefits.  We want to travel, easily pick up our Amazon packages from our porch, and so much more.

Please let me know how I can help you experience the rest of the year in the way I started mine.
